ABSCOPA. Earlier I mentioned that PDT enhanced the immune response to cancer. This slide illustrates this. The rat on the left has laboratory grown cancer injected into both flanks. In the left picture only the cancer in the right flank was treated with PDT. In the right picture, several weeks later, not only the treated right flank but also the untreated left flank shows complete healing without a scar. This is ABSCOPA.
