Slide 8: Proteomics Study: Amino Acids in Prostate Cancer Patients

This slide shows the amino acids detected by proteomics (the study of proteins) in the urine of patients diagnosed with prostate cancer who are treated with PDT. The bars show the concentration of proteins related to normal cells, inflammatory cells, tumour cells and immune cells pre and post PDT. Of great importance is the large spike in immune proteins, proving that there has been a significant immune system stimulus.

This is different to radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
