Slide 3: PDT and Photosynthesis

PDT is based on the natural phenomenon of Photosynthesis. The green pigment in the leaf captures energy from the sun to combine carbon dioxide from the atmosphere with water, nitrogen and trace elements to perform the evolutionary function of a particular plant (nut, rose, tree etc). The byproduct is oxygen. This is the only source of oxygen on our planet.
